Here’s How Your Support Helps:

  • Equipment: Provide top-tier adaptive equipment to enhance accessibility.
  • Expand: Increase program capacity to include everyone, ensuring no one remains on the waiting list.
  • Enrich: Improve physical and mental health, fostering a sense of belonging through active participation and peer support.

Northland Adaptive Recreation is dedicated to fostering empowerment, inclusion, and holistic well-being through a wide range of recreational activities.

A person with physical or intellectual disabilities face mental health challenges at nearly twice the rate of the general population– twice the rate.  Our programs are designed to combat these challenges by making everyone feel valued and connected, whether they’re enjoying the great outdoors or engaging in indoor sports.

In 2023 alone, we conducted 178 classes across 12 Activity Programs and involved over 376 participants in outdoor experiences and indoor sports like basketball, indoor power soccer, and archery.

These programs do more than entertain, they are essential in making participants feel included and necessary to their community.

Our team of 3 full-time staff and 277 dedicated volunteers, ensures that each participant enjoys a supportive, safe, and nurturing environment. By pairing each participant with a volunteer, we forge strong, supportive relationships that bolster mental and emotional well-being.

Disability doesn't discriminate, and neither does opportunity.

To make programs accessible to every family, NAR must rely on philanthropic support. This year, we've set an ambitious Shoot For Fun fundraising goal of over $175,000—almost half of our annual budget. These funds are vital for maintaining and enhancing the quality of our diverse programming and the equipment we provide. Consider a Financial Gift Today.
